Cleveland Senior Network’s “President”

Hello friends, welcome to our professional senior care non-profit networking group. I started the Cleveland Senior Network to support my friends and colleagues who also serve seniors in a caring and ethical way. Also, our businesses all run on trusted referrals. It’s important for us to be able to know each other personally so that we can keep more of our older neighbors from falling through the cracks in our broken healthcare system.

My title is Dr. Rabbi L. Shalom Plotkin, LT, USN-R owner of the Right at Home Cleveland East offices since 2014, and Navy Chaplain since 1994, now serving at the Louis Stokes, VA Medical Center. But please just call me Shalom, which means peace. My mission is to bring peace of mind to my clients and fellow caregivers.

Right At Home hires professional caregivers that love helping seniors and Veterans to age in place wherever they call home. We help adults with personal hygiene, companionship, light, house-keeping, driving, and pet care. We are open 24/7 at 216-752-2222.

Something that I’m particularly proud of is that during the pandemic when many of the other networking groups went quiet, our CSN friends jumped into action. We heard many older adults were feeling locked up and lonely in their nursing homes. Every week, for three years, a group of us volunteered to safely sing and dance in the rehabs with our local seniors. Super uplifting.

You will often find me working with my fellow board members to create networking parties, planing monthly educational luncheons and coffees, and packing bags of holiday cheer for homebound seniors. We love to create comedy dinners and musicals to raise support for our local Alzheimers Association, Veterans groups, PEP and In Motion (Parkinson’s), Gathering Place (Cancer) and other medical charities. Our network loves giving back. One of my favorite annual activities is dressing up for our Halloween health fair at the Beachwood rec center.

Feel free to call me on my cell at 216-357-1547 if you have any questions about our group or if you would like me to drive along with you for a warm introduction to some of my fellow healthcare leaders. When we work together, we can make a much bigger difference.
